Perhaps one of the most hyped and anticipated events of this year’s New York Fashion Week was the unveiling of Kanye West’s collaborative label with adidas Originals.  With both parties making lots of noise in and outside of the fashion industry throughout 2014 in the form of large collaborations and massive increases in market share, it is looking like the fanfare will not be subsiding any time soon.  

The Kanye West for adidas Originals “Yeezy Season One” collection was met with adoring applause from the biggest celebrities in the fashion and music industries, as they lined the front rows to cheer on the man himself: YEEZUS.  The collection, which entails an amalgamation of distressed high-fashion designs and technical street-styled athletic-wear, gives us an end result which equals luxurious leisurewear.  To label the collection as contemporary would be an understatement of the utmost degree.  It takes a 90’s grunge aesthetic and combines it with ultra-futuristic creation, delivering what can only be properly described as “Yeezy Season One.”
