Of all the Parisian fashion-houses currently making waves in the industry with their sport-chic, street styled wares, none have accomplished the seamless consolidation of the two very separate design-scapes like Givenchy has. Riccardo Tisci’s creative directing transformed the behemoth high-fashion house from a stale luxury wear label to a chic, urban, and trendy powerhouse that had one hell of a 2012-2014.
However, one look at Givenchy’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection tells a story of revision, diversification, and and transition. With a smooth and dapper aesthetic, the designs are being translated through a wiser, and more mature narrative. The suiting, topcoats and duffel coats, knitwear, and other iterations are constructed with a colour-blocked and tailored visage, contrasted by a dash of youth via grungy adornments.
